In light of the recent developments around COVID-19, health, safety, and cleanliness are top of mind for travellers. At Booking.com we believe it is our duty to protect our partners’ and guests’ while promoting safe travel.
Accommodation partners are making efforts to meet traveller expectations around hygiene and want to showcase their property in the best way possible. We want to ensure the information and measures being taken by properties is also passed on to you and your guests to encourage booking with confidence.
As such, we’ve developed new features that have been added to property pages on Booking.com to help travellers feel more at ease when booking accommodation. These additional features are also available through the Demand API solution for partners. We have included technical instructions for these new attributes in the API Development Portal and in our Knowledge Base.
New Booking.com Health and Safety Protocols
There are three key focus areas for Booking.com’s new protocols:
- Safety features and cleaning:
Gives travellers peace of mind by highlighting an accommodation’s use of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes, as well as their adherence to local regulations.
- Physical distancing:
Assures guests of social distancing measures, such as contactless check-in and check-out and cashless payments.
- Food safety:
Addresses food safety standards for in-room and public dining.
We would like to note that our new Health and Safety Protocol is here to address the health and safety risks of our partners and guests, but does not override any local regulations.
