Why is my data shared and how will this benefit me?
Both brands are part of the same group – Booking Holdings Inc. As part of the strategy to offer a complete travel experience, we will enable customers to make hotel and experiences reservations (through the brand Booking.com), to make car rental reservations and book taxi/ground transport (through the brands Rentalcars.com and Rideways).
By sharing your information, both brands will be able to better understand product performance and customer behaviour/trends. As a result, we hope we will be able to optimise our partner relationships, customer offerings and create more revenue for you.
What kind of data will be shared?
- The contents of the contract with you (eg legal clauses, commercial arrangements and financial terms)
- Company and partner names and contacts (eg Tom Brown, VP at Travelpartner.com) for sales teams
- Key performance indicators (eg volume of business in the last month/quarter/year)
How often will my data be shared?
Data will be shared on a continual basis. Existing partners will be informed about the closer business relationship between Booking.com and TravelJigsaw and will be given the right to object to the transfer of their data within a given timeframe. Any data sharing will only be done in line with communications to partners, to the extent necessary to fulfill the intended purposes and unless objected by the respective partner in time.
Will you share sensitive data about my performance with my competitors?
No, we will continue to honour our contractual obligations to treat your business sensitive data confidentially, and will only use it for the reasons outlined above.
