When it comes to monetizing your website, there are lots of products that can help you out – from deep-links to banners to search boxes. But where do you start when you want to optimize your page? Here are a few of our top tips to keep in mind:
Cut down on clicks
To encourage your readers to book, their journey should be short and simple – the fewer clicks, the better. Create a natural flow by putting inspirational products like banners on index pages, then recommending specific destinations or deals lower down in your website funnel. Make sure you add a clear call-to-action at highly visible points, such as index or confirmation pages.
Link to pages that provide the most choice
If your website contains content about specific destinations, you can deep-link to a relevant region, city or district landing page on Booking.com, or to a preselected accommodation search page. It’s best to avoid linking directly to a single hotel page, in case the property doesn’t have availability at the time someone clicks.
Use the Booking.com brand to your advantage
Booking.com is a well-trusted global brand, so displaying the logo on your website can encourage your readers to book. It’s a good idea to explain some of the benefits of Booking.com – low rates with no booking fees, 24/7 customer support and free cancellation on most properties – so that your audience understands why you’ve chosen to partner with us.
Make tools and widgets easily accessible
Make it as easy as possible for customers to spot your Booking.com widgets, such as the deals finder or the inspiring search box. Instead of putting a widget in the middle of a page of text, try placing it in the sidebar or navigation tab for higher visibility and easy access.
Boost your chances of earning commission
When you promote a destination, picking higher-priced and highly rated properties will help you earn more commission. Our search boxes and link tools even let you pre-filter results to guide your audience to the specific places you want to promote. Always check availability in your chosen location first, to make sure your users will have plenty of properties to choose from.
Last but not least...
Make sure that your affiliate link is included in any URLs, so that bookings brought in by your site will count towards your commission.
